Delighted with the result, hopefully i can maintain the grades for next semester as well. Next semester is gona be very challenging as the courses i picked are very alien to me and i need to manage my time between my new career and studies. I guess there will be lesser leisure time, most of the time will be on either work or study. Anyway Gambatte !!!

Status update on my new company

I have been with my new company for close to 2 weeks plus. Very different working environment especially when you are working in the private sector before. Was quite a culture shock I guess but so far I have been adapting well. My colleagues in my department are very friendly and helpful. Most of them are Big JieJie to me as I’m the youngest among the permanent staff there. There is also a team of contract staffs attached to us who are fun to chat with. The contract staffs are mostly around my age that I will be working closely with them for the next few months.

I kinda like the work place here. Firstly, it’s near to my house, a 20 mins bus ride will reach my work place. Secondly, there are plenty of food choices where I get to choose from restaurants to staff canteens. In additional, the meals are given discount if we displayed our passes. Thirdly, there is a recreational club where I can get to play my badminton. In fact I played with other staff there just this Thursday and they are quite pro.

Well it is time for another badminton session with my every Saturday badminton group. OMG I’m addicted to badminton :)

Anyway i'm feeling pretty excited about the new job, get to see new people, work with new colleagues, befriend more friends, report to new bosses. New working environment and new makan places. But still there's a little bit of jittery. Well time to sleep early and prepare for tomorrow :)

My Hoots from Thailand

This bangkok trip bought alot of stuffs 6 long sleeve tailored shirts, 3 t-shirts, 1 bag, 1 cap, 1 wrist band and 1 pair of shoes. Total expenses 633 SGD including Air ticket and hotel stay.

My Bangkok Trip Part 2

Day 2

After the morning breakfast at the hotel, we went to find our tailor shops. Before we come to BKK, we did a little research and find out that there's a few tailor shops near Nana BTS station. We took the BTS which is only 5mins walk from the hotel to Nana. We made our shirts at a tailor shop called Armani. Both service and quality are good. They can make the shirts within 12 hours and deliver to your hotel. In the noon we went to MBK, where i was surprise to see Auntie Lucy aka 周崇庆. Too bad it happened so sudden that i forgot to take picture with him.

Day 3

Went to Siam Paragon to experience Thailand cinema. While we were checking out what movies they are showing, i spotted my poly frenz. What a small world, he was with his GF here to watch 2012. In order not to disturb the lovely dovey couple, we went to Central World to watch our movie. Central World cinema offered big comfortable seats and the back support is rockable. FYI watching movies in Thailand, need to pay respect for the Thai King by standing up when the cinema show a clip of the Thai king before showing the actual movie.

Day 4

Finally our last day in BBK, we went to MBK to do some last min shopping due to early noon flight. I managed to hoot a pair of shoes while the rest were buying local product snack. Lucky there was no flight delayed back to SG, we reached SG at 1730. Home Sweet Home.

My Bangkok Trip Part 1

Sawadee Khrap means Hello also good evening, goodbye, and even good-night. Men end a sentence with khrap; women with kha. The Bangkok (BKK) trip came in just nice after my exam although was a little bit last min decided. I went with my frenz and 2 of his frenz which i only know them on that day. The last time i went Bangkok something went terribly wrong. There was 6 of us but only 3 managed to make it on the plane. Anyway my 2nd time to BKK wasn't that bad LOL, the flight got re-timed to 2 hrs later. Suay sia!!! So weird Jetstar announced it as re-timed rather than delayed. To make it sound nicer ar? The Jetstar counter customer service crew was not helping as well when we asked her why our flight got re-timed. She murmured the plane was late, OMG of course we know that. Never mind it's budget flight so LL.

We reached our Hotel at 4pm, BKK is 1 hr later than our SG time and 2 to 4 degree celsius warmer. So hot and humid that once you are not in air-con places, you will perspire within 10mins. The name of the hotel is Yado@Thonglor, located at Sukhumvit road aka little japan area. It is very near to BTS Thong Lo station, convenient for us to go Siam Paragon or MBK in less than 6 stops. 1000 baht per nite + free breakfast flight got re-timed and we were waiting for 1 of our , Cheap rite? It cost me ard 21 SGD or 500 baht per nite since i'm sharing 1 room with my frenz. We didn't get to travel ard on 1st day becosfrenz's relative to collect some things and money. In the end we had our dinner in the hotel's restaurant which served very OISHI garlic rice. Very authentic Japanese style cooking where all the customers ard us were Japs.

Exams are over!!

Yesterday i had 2 exam papers in a day. It was my 1st time in UniSim to take 2 papers in the same day as well as my 1st open book exam papers. Open book exam sounds easy rite? You are WRONG!! Both are 2 hours papers and they are on Database System. I brought a textbook and a bunch of notes in to help me with the exams. The papers were quite intensive that some students barely got enough time to finish it. In fact for my 1st paper i did not even flip my textbook for answers.

Time management is very important in both papers. If one take too much time searching for answers from the textbook or notes, he or she would not have enough time to finish. Luckily i was warned by my senpai (Japanese word meaning Senior). He said open book exam means harder questions and it's best to take time revising it. So last week i spent a few days studying with my school mates in T3 Airport. LOL my 1st visit to T3 is actually to study for exam.

The group study helped alot in my papers, i'm glad i spent time revising it and not taking it easy just because it's an open book exam. Well are exams over now, next bangkok trip followed by Job hunting when i'm back..

A sweaty and aching weekend

Last week, i was googling for a badminton bag and i stumbled upon a badminton forum. The forum is all about badminton from playing techniques to regular badminton sessions. I was free the weekend so i decided to try out on the regular sessions.

I choose those sessions that are in the east for convenience purposes. The 1st session was on saturday at Tampines sports hall and the 2nd session was on sunday at changi south. Both sessions were in the morning. I got to know 16 strangers from both sessions. They are very friendly and mature people, a good bunch of badminton players. Some of them were kind enough to fault my playing style and where i should improve on. Although they told me their names, i already forgot most of it.

Today is Tuesday and i'm still feeling abit ache due to intensive badminton sessions. Well it's much much better than yesterday. Yesterday was the worst, dun even feel like walking to the toilet. I think i will be joining them this weekend again but only one session. Old liao bones cannot take it :)

RETRENCHMENT.......................

This is my first ever permanent job and also my first time experiencing retrenchment process. I have been working in this company for close to 4 years. The new management took over the company 01 Sep 2009 and i remembered the chairman saying there won't be any restructuring, everything will remain the same. Common sense tell us any takeover of company will result in restructuring but some of us actually believe his words. It didn't take long before they change their mind like flipping the roti prata. Oh wait i think it's preplan to calm the situation before they do the axing. In less than a month, retrenchment took place we are being pwned by ABNN.

It started at 3pm where 1 by 1 (Harper's island?) get call into the board room. We are given a stack of papers explaining company restructuring and most importantly the payout cheque. I remember there is one sentence in the stack papers that piss me off saying "As a result of restructuring, your position is REDUNDANT." It was quite an emotional day for everyone including those not affected. Some were busying packing their stuffs, some biding last farewell, some were even crying. My
Quality department are left with 1 manager and 3 contract staffs, the engineers, assistant engineers and specialists are all axed.

Good bye MR Quality team, it's a good fun of 4 years. Will miss you guys, keep in touch and good luck in your future endeavours

The tale of two strikers in a Manchester derby

After Tevez left for manchester city, SAF brought in Owen supposedly to replace him. I like Teve hardworking and never-say-die spirit when he is still in Manu but my love turns to hate when he join rivals city. Also after joining city he starts to badmouthing SAF, i duno how true it is but it's kinda of unprofessional.

Yesterday Manchester United vs
Manchester City, one of the most anticipated match of the season with both side trying to prove a point or two. Even before the game both side already started their verbal battle. SAF labeling city as cocky and arrogance over Tevez " Welcome to manchester" poster while city claims SAF is very afraid to play with city.

Owen scored the winner goal late late in extra time as
Manchester United beat Manchester City 4-3. As usual Owen was not in first eleven and even when he was brought on during 78th min for berbatov, the fourth highest scorer for England hardly made any impact to the game. With little time to play for, giggs supplied a brilliant true pass to the unmarked owen and he converted the goal calmly into the right corner.

SAF leaped into the air celebrating while Mark Hughes was angrily debating with the fourth official about the extra time added on into the game. United led the game three times but each time city crawled back to equalise thanks to the horrible defensive mistakes and a wonderful goal by bellamy. The culprits for the
defensive mistakes are foster and ferdinand, they must be very relieved that owen came to their rescue.

Tevez managed to get fit on time and returned to United only to get booed by fans for the entire game. Although he was loudly jeered by the united fans, he still provided an assist and almost scored a goal. Thanks to the pole as the results would not be the same if the Argentinian scored.

Manchester United edged through the game based on their experience. Manchester City
may have lost but i believed they will be back and Mark Hughes need to something to the defence if they want to compete against the Top Four.

IPPT officially passed

It was a morale boosting thingy when i passed my IPPT on the 1st day of IPT but it was not counted. And after some persuasion from my IPT buddies, i decided to book a separate IPPT. Kinda funny i took 2 IPPT within a week, i dun remember doing that before. Anyway the 2nd IPPT was a better result from the 1st. I managed to improve the 2.4km run by 24 sec, the 1st run was timed at 12:16 min while the 2nd run was at 11:52 min. With that i pass with incentive. This means SAF rewards you $100 if you manage to pass the test with 15 points and fufil their other requirements.

1st day of IPT

After 2 months of Remedial Training (RT), i still can't clear my IPPT. My 2.4km run and Standing Board Jump (SBJ) were my weak points. Together with a bunch of frenz, we decided to book IPT to further improve our fitness but the real reason is to siam RT next year ^^. As there is a one month time frame between RT and IPT, we can't attend IPT immediately after RT.

Using the one month time, i decided to do some self training which i learnt during my RT phase. Instead of my usual endurance running, i changed it to high intensity running. It means sprinting at your fastest pace then rest and repeat the sprint rest thingy for a couple of times. As for training SBJ, i did tug jump and chicken backside. Sounds funny rite, chicken rice anyone? The PTI named it that way, basically you put hands on your ankle and then move your backside up and down.

Today was my first day of IPPT Preparatory Training (IPT) at bedok camp. We knew there would be a IPPT on first lesson but what we didn't know is the test won't count even if you pass.
The one month of training worked well and i passed the test. Too bad it was not counted, either i book separate IPPT or i wait till the last lesson of IPT which is the actual IPPT. It's been quite some years since i passed an IPPT, i guess all the hard work efforts are worth it

The Story of Mr S and Miss J - Part 4

The Start and The end

Mr S felt so happy after expressing his thoughts to her through the little card. He knew if he doesn’t do it now, he will regret it later irregardless to the outcome. Each day Mr S waited patiently for her reply, sometimes he would check his phone although it didn't ring to ensure his phone is not out of battery. Mr S's hope diminishes as each day passes. There is still no reply from Miss J and by day four Mr S believed the reply probably won't come. It was just his wishful thinking.

Friday evening, Mr S had just knocked off from work and was on his way to buy his dinner when his phone RANG.......... It was from his brother asking him to buy his dinner. Shortly later his phone rang again but this time it was his sms tone. He reached for his phone in his pocket and read the sms " Hi.. I'm J. The one you passed the note to, in case you don't know who.. :P

Her unexpected surprise sms brings back all the hopes Mr S lost earlier. It also brings back the smile on Mr S face and the unexplainable happiness feelings in his heart. And so they started smsing each other, through that Mr S discovered Miss J actually attend baking lessons every Friday evening which explained Mr S 1 hour of dumb wait that day. He also know Miss J is working in an insurance company and enjoys singing karaoke but all good things come to the end. Just when Mr S thought he knew Miss J better through the conversation they had in the sms and even planned to ask Miss J out for a date, an incident happened.

It was almost a month since they started smsing, that fateful day arrived. Mr S met Miss J on the bus, she was siting on the inner seat and the outer seat was empty. Mr S went over, sat on the empty seat and said Hi, Good Morning to her. Miss J did not reply, she turned her head away and looked at the windows. Astonished by Miss J reactions, Mr S was left paralyzed in that awkward situation. Throughout the journey both of them pretended nothing has happened, Mr S continue listening to his 933 while Miss J was looking out at the window. That evening Mr S sent a sms asking her what happened. It was Mr S last sms to her and she have yet to reply.

Till today Mr S dunno what has happened between them to make Miss J react that way. Nevertheless
Mr S wishes Miss J all the best in her life. He hope one day Miss J would sms him the reason but deep down in his heart he knew that would not happen.

Love is like taking a bus, there will be people boarding the bus as well as people alighting. It's a pity that i'm not the one to accompany you to the end of the journey.

爱情就像搭巴士, 途中会有人上车,也会有人下车.
只可惜我不是那位陪伴你到终点,我先下车了.

Thank you for reading the short story, the story ends here so there won't be part 5. I apologize for the horrible grammar mistakes and sentences structuring.

The Story of Mr S and Miss J - Part 3

The Wait

A joyful Mr S went happily in search for the card and he eventually bought it from a bookstore in Bugis Junction. The card is small in size, about the size of a credit card. The cover of the card has a white background filled with glittering dust and a picture of a rose inside the flask. That night, Mr S wrote down his thoughts on the card and determined to pass it to Miss J the next day.

It was Friday morning that day, Mr S is late for work so he could see Miss J and hopefully able to pass the card to her. He waited and waited but couldn't get to see Miss J at the bus-stop so he decided to try again later after work. It must be an unlucky day for Mr S as he couldn't get the chance to see Miss J that evening even after waiting for an hour. And so the card accompanied Mr S over the lonely weekend.

Monday is finally here, Mr S arrived at the bus-stop early as he does not want to miss any chances. After waiting for around 15 mins, Mr S saw Miss J walking over. Each step she took towards the bus-stop, his heart beat increase by 1. Deep down he was thinking where, how, when to give the card but before he can decide, their bus arrived. He was behind her when they boarded the bus. He followed Miss J to the rear of the bus and sat just behind her. This is it. Now or never. Mr S took a deep breath and gently tap her shoulder. He said "Hi, this is for you". Miss J looked surprised but she accepted the card and put it in her bag. Good thing there's not much people at the rear of the bus, such awkward situation.

Back in the office, Mr S felt so revived and happy that he finally gave the card. He msn Miss M to share his joy. Miss M felt happy for Mr S too but told him to prepare for the worst. She told Mr S that Miss J may or may not reply back and if she do reply, it won't be instantly. Do not hope for too much as the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.

The long wait begun as Mr S hope Miss J would reply.........

The Story of Mr S and Miss J - Part 2

The Little Card

Mr S was late for work that morning but he is happy he got an unexpected surprise. Mr S is not the type of person that always come late for work. In fact it was his first late for work in that month. Back in the office, he was thinking could there be another chance to see Miss J again so he decided to push his luck. The next day, he purposely came late for work and indeed he get to see Miss J again at the same bus-stop. For the next few months, Mr S and Miss J took the same bus to work and every time Mr S could only sit from far admiring her. Each time Mr S see Miss J, he thought of approaching Miss J for contact number. A couple of times Mr S was sitting beside her or even standing next to her in the bus but never muster the courage to do so. Many people would think why such an easy task yet Mr S can't do it. Although it's a simple action but it takes lots of confidence and bravery to so when one is in that situation. The phrase "Actions speak louder than words" is so true.

Mr S was disappointed with his lack of courage but he did not give up. He decided to seek advise from a friend, a female friend should know much better than a guy he thought. His friend, Miss M analyze his situation and suggest him since you can't say it out, why don't you write it down in a little card and pass it to her. Mr S nodded his head totally agreed with that method. With new determination and encouragement from his friend he went off to search for the little card immediately after he finished work.

TBC.......

The Story of Mr S and Miss J

The First Encounter

One fateful morning, Mr S woke up late for work. He quickly took a quick shower and taken a few biscuits as breakfast. He usually take Bus to work so as usual he went down to his bus-stop waiting impatiently for his bus. The bus was awfully late which make Mr S more impatient and piss but suddenly something wipe that angry expression of Mr S. It's a Bird! It's a Plane! No la just Mr S bus arriving. Mr S need to take 2 buses to reach his workplace.

After a 15mins bus ride, Mr S reaches his 2nd bus-stop. The bus-stop is crowded with working adults and teenagers which leave Mr S standing outside the shade enduring the hot bright sun. While waiting for his bus something caught Mr S eye, a lady with big beautiful eyes and long wavy shoulder length hair. Furthermore, she emits a cool and mysterious appearance
. Yes she is Miss J and that's how Mr S met Miss J... to be continued :)

Do and Dont's during Hungry Ghost Festival

I'm not usually very superstitious but when it come to spiritual stuffs like ghosts, i can be quite a believer. I have no idea why maybe i watched too much horror movies during my childhood time. Today is the start of the Hungry Ghost Festival, it is said that the ghosts are release and given a one month break to walk the earth. During this festival, the Chinese offer prayers to the deceased relatives by burning paper money, joss sticks and etc. We get to see Getai a stage performance for the spirits and also the people. I gona share some DOs and DONT's during this festival. It's up to individuals to believe it or not.

Do and Dont's

  1. Avoid swimming during the 7th month. It is believed that those previously drowned evil ghost might cause you to drown in the swimming pool. Such ghost need to find victims in order for them to be go for rebirth.

  2. Children and young adults are also advised to return home early and not to wander around alone at night. This belief is due to the reason that the wandering ghosts can possess children easily.

  3. Avoid getting married, going overseas trip or even moving of house in this month because this month is considered as inauspicious.

  4. Avoid going for jungle trekking and going on camping trips as chances of injuries, possession and death are high.

  5. Drive very carefully during this month to avoid accidents, as there may be many wandering spirits who died of accidents previously that are searching for next victims so that they could be reincarnated.

  6. Always address the hungry ghost as "Good Brothers". Never address them as ghosts.

  7. If you watching the Getai shows, do not sit at the 1st few row as they are meant for the hungry ghosts.

Barclays Premier League is back

After 3 months of break, the BPL is back again last weekend. All big four got their 3 points except liverpool who sunk at spurs. Arsenal got off a flying start with a 6-1 thrashing of everton at goodison park while ManU and Chelsea scrape through to get their points.

Last nite i watched ManU game against Birmingham City on TV thks to StarHub. Nope i didn't subscribe to starhub. It's free, Starhub Preview Channel let you watch Sports Channels just tune in to frequency UHF 527.25 MHZ. Anyway Rooney get to shine now after Ronaldo has gone to Real Madrid. Beside that, i can see ManU players have more teamwork even Berbatov start back tracking to defense. But the bad part, IMO i doubt Nani and Valencia can fill Ronaldo' shoes. They hardly impress me. I think this season you will see Manu scoring less goals but with a tighter defense. SAF did said defense is the key if Manu intend to get the BPL title again.

Ah Ma fell and injured her left hand

Had my usual badminton session with my kakis on a sunday afternoon. While i'm having a good time doing drop shots and smashes, my Ah Ma fell down from the ladder and injured her left hand. The incident happened around 3pm +, she called my third uncle to bring her to the hospital. In the end my uncle Raymond and aunty jacq rushed over and sent her to General Hospital. The doctor said lucky the bones did not crack but the hand is dislocated and need to be casted.

Apparently she was using a ladder to take something on the cupboard and lost her footing. It's good that the hand hit the ground, i can't imagined if the head hit 1st. The whole incident would have been avoided if she ask the maid to take the things instead. She very stubborn and like to do things on her own. Well that's my Ah Ma, so strong willed and Super Woman i guess. She did single handedly brought up 8 children. I got to know about the incident at 6pm + after my dad informed me. So together with my parent and bro, we down to pay her visit. It's kinda funny when my uncle and aunts said the same thing, why didn't you asked the maid to do the chore. I'm glad everything turn out to be Okay, after all she's my only grandma left.

Manu Fan at National stadium (SG vs Pool)

Liverpool was in town last weekend for a game with Singapore at the National Stadium. Wierd someone told me the Kallang Stadium would not hold any more games due to rebuilding, nvm that. The game ended 5-0 with liverpool winning. Not a surprise, the Lions played badly and liverpool was not even on top gear. Anyway the weirdest part is probably a Manchester United fan caught spotted there. Respect sia, he really got the balls to go there alone and really big balls to taunt the pools fans shown in the video clip.

Break time over

Time flies very fast especially when one is enjoying the holidays. Well this 2 months of holiday is more like physical training to me because of my RT phase 1 & 2. It's good to get back to fitness and i hope i can continue this momentum all the way to December even though my RT ended.

My school starts next week, I'm taking database, statistic and financial planning subjects this semester. The sian feeling to rush down to clementi again and then endure the packed crowd on the bus to SIM. Lucky 1 of the subject is conducted at Singapore Polytechnic which can save me from crowded bus.

OMG Manchester United signs Michael Owen

After signing Antonio Valencia to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. SAF made a shocking move to sign Owen on a free transfer. Michael Owen may have a decent scoring record at liverpool but what worry me is he's too injury-prone. IMO i think SAF wants to use owen as a super-subs striker like the way he used Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Do not fret manu fans, i believe SAF will sign another striker and hopefully is Davild Villa.

A video for H1N1 ?

Today, Singapore has confirmed another 26 new cases of Influenza A (H1N1) bringing the total to 220 confirmed cases. The new cases are from Riverlife Church, Butter Factory, Fishermen of Christ Church and Maju camp. It looks like containing the virus is inevitable. I personally think the best protection now is individual's social responsibility and a constant reminder of personal hygiene to reduce community spread in Singapore.

The video clip below is very entertaining but yet educating which i found on Mr Brown website. It's a remake version of the famous Nobody song. With the rising cases of
H1N1 in Singapore, maybe mediacorp would want to consider remaking this video and putting it on TV. Of cos who else but our famous Gurmit Singh as Phua Chu Kang should be singing the remaked video :)

Exam results are out !!!

Phew my marketing 201 actually pass sia and back then i thought i'm gona flunked this paper. It gave me a few nightmares after i took the paper. In fact the marketing's grade is actually better than the organisational behaviour which surprised me. I was quite confident that my OB can get at least a B well 人算不如天算. Overall, i'm glad with the results. Thanks YL and Alvin for informing me that the exams are out.

Ways to fight Monday Blues

Oh God It's Monday! Having difficulty to wake up on time for work, thinking why weekend flies so fast, feeling very EMO not getting to sleep more. Haha those are the common symptoms you, me and everyone are having.

Well there are some ways to lessen the pain. I hope the ways below helps you.

1. Have plenty of sleep on sunday night. (At least 7-8hrs)

2. Have a hearty good breakfast. ( A coffee is a must for me :P)

3. If you are taking Bus/Train to work or school, catch some sleep. ( I do that often on other days as well lol)

4. Listen to your favourite songs while on your way to work or school.

5. A short nap of 10-15mins during lunch hour can really work wonders.

6. Think of someone you like or something that makes you happy.

£80m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United accepted a £80m bid from Real Madrid. If the deal goes through, it will break Real's transfer record which they made few days ago after getting Kaka from Ac Milan at £59m. The amount of money involved is crazy, the whole world is still suffering from the financial crisis but certainly not Real madrid.

As a Manchester United fan, i loved to see the transfer deal goes through. It's not that i don't like Cristiano Ronaldo, in fact i was a fan of him till the manchester city game. Enough is enough, his altitude is getting worse and displaying disrespect to the club, fans and manager is a big NO NO. In that game SAF sub him out to preserve his strength for next game but he throw his tantrum like a big baby. Hey come on we know you are good but no player is indispensable especially in Manchester United. We see big stars come and go, famous examples like Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Japp Stam, Beckham and etc.

£80m is a huge amount of money to be rejected. Farewell Cristiano Ronaldo, hello Ribery. Once again thank you for contribution for past few years.

IPPT Failed

After 1 month of RT training, i still fail my IPPT. Haiz sian 1/2, this time round slightly better as i manage to clear the SBJ hurdle. I never forgot the last year IPPT i took at bedok camp. I jumped like 10+ times on the SBJ station, only 1 score is recorded and the rest is line fault. Anyway yesterday i took one try to clear my SBJ. together with the rest of the static stations.

So finally it came down to 2.4km, it was an epic phailed. Even i dashed during the last 100m, it wasn't enough. In the end i failed by 22sec, my 2.4km timing was 13min 02sec. RT phase 2 here i come, more dinner gathering with my buddies i guess as they failed too.

Congrats Ferris on becoming a dad

A good gaming friend and colleague of mine has turned DAD. A few friends of us decided to pool in some money to buy something for his son Cepheus. A very unique name, i think ferris name it after some Greek myth or stars thingy. Good thing he didn't name his son as Diablo or Nakayuda (Just Kidding). A picture of his son wearing our gift. Once again Congrats!! You are a Father now and it's time to plvl him :P

Patience is a virtue

After accomplishing the 1st mission, i never thought there is a 2nd mission for me. The 4 days of waiting seem forever, i guess good thing is worth waiting. Today, i finally got a reply. The feeling is unexplainable, i'm feeling shocked but yet happy. Some people can describe the feelings like tio toto or 4D but to me it's much more than that, something special. A chance for me to do this 2nd mission. Ganbatte SluRpee !!

HANDPHONES FALL IN !!!

All mine muhahaha, envy ba. Just kidding those are my lab phones. My current project requires me to test with all the phones except one which is mine. Make a guess which phone is mine, we have E51, E65, E71, N95, Nokia 3120, Blackberry Curve and Bold. It should be easy :P

TGIF = Thank God Is Friday

Working adults like me love friday becos it's the last working day of the week. Unless your company requires you to work on weekends then too bad i guess. As usual, we go central or bedok south to have our lunch but for past few fridays, there can only be one thing "MACDONALD". The crazy fest to collect the Coca Cola cups have got into us lol. The cups i collected so far are blue, green and purple.

Father's day Present

Father's day is round the corner, have you decided what to get for your dad? I have and it is Osim uVision Eye Massager. Instead of the usual shirts and watches, i thought maybe this year i should get something different. As his work requires long hours of vision on the road, Osim uVision would be a more practical and meaningful gift. Anyone got Osim lobang? :P

1st Mission accomplished

Last friday, my 1st attempt on the mission was aborted as i'm late for an early meeting so i decided to try it after work. The 2nd attempt failed too after a long hour of waiting in vain at the bus-stop.

Finally this morning, my 3rd attempt was a success and now the waiting game begins. Whether it is a positive or negative outcome, i want to thank Meow for the tips and push. Oba-san kitty FTW !!

Chelsea FA CUP 2009 Winner

A typical Frank Lampard goal in the 72nd minute sealed a 2-1 FA Cup final victory for Chelsea over Everton. Louis Saha had scored the fastest ever goal in a final after just 25 seconds but Didier Drogba levelled. Lampard won it with a strike from the edge of the box. Its time for a long break before the next season of EPL kicks in august.

Ronaldo Vs Cristiano Ronaldo

Mistaken identity
Actual culprit

After losing the champions league final, Cristiano Ronaldo become depress and resulted a disturbance eating disorder. He ate & ate & ate & ate which he gained 20kg + over the nite. The loss meant so much to him that he even aged over the nite. Poor Cristiano Ronaldo :P

Just kidding, apparently Strait Times posted the wrong picture of Ronaldo on their web news which was discovered by an EDMW member. Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo 傻傻分不清楚 :)

My guess here: The person who posted this article don't watch soccer at all

Barcelona the best team in the world

Manchester United lost 2-0 to Barcelona this morning. I woke up to watch my supporting team playing without a soul after they concede the early goal to Samuel Eto'o.

Barcelona was a much better team, dominating most of the time while manu couldnt even keep their possession. Against a team like barca, you cant afford to lose possession as it will much more difficult to get the ball back than controlling it.

Congrats Barcelona for winning the Champions league and my daring colleague who bet with Singapore pools taking Barca puting 1 1/2 handicap at the odds of $5.00. Barcelona the best team in the world :(

In the end, i'm late for work. Although i'm disappointed that manu lost but more disappointed in myself for not able to do it again.

Edit
Darn just received an sms from my buddy that i lost the bet and i owed him a dinner meal. William we never agree on botak jones leh. Beside Botak Jones so unhealthy, our RT IPPT coming. Can we just go 85 market and have bak chor mee :P

Marketing nightmare

My 2nd paper today, i think i did badly for it. I was stunned, when i flipped over the first page of the question paper. No confidence at all for Q1 and the worst part its the compulsary question, die die must attempt. Lucky i see some familiar terms in Q2 and Q4 which i attempt them as my options questions.

Took me 10 mins to read through and gather my thoughts b4 i start writing. Overall its a bad attempt, lets hope the marker will be lenient. Haiz... Sian 1/2. Still got 1 last paper on tuesday. :(

Manchester United is 1 point from EPL title

Manchester United moved within a point of a third consecutive Premier League title on Wednesday after battling back to beat Wigan 2-1. Goals from Carlos Tevez and Michael Carrick mean that United will be crowned champions if they draw at home to Arsenal on Saturday.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Michael Carrick
With a goal and an assist, it is hard to overlook him. Carrick had waited three years to score away from Old Trafford for United but the significance of his first strike on the road earns him this vote.

Good news: Mas Selamat captured

KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen months after his audacious escape from detention in Singapore, Mas Selamat Kastari has been caught in Malaysia.

Singapore's most wanted terrorist was captured on April 1 while hiding in Johor, regional intelligence sources told The Straits Times.

It is believed that he was nabbed in the outskirts of Johor Baru and is now being held by the Malaysian authorities for interrogation.

It is not known how he slipped out of Singapore or when he entered Malaysia.

Although he was arrested six weeks ago, the Malaysian authorities have not yet announced the capture.

A senior Malaysian government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the arrest and said that Mas Selamat was being held under the country's Internal Security Act.

He declined to say when the terrorist would be handed over to the Singapore authorities.

It is believed that the fugitive had stayed in Johor all this time and had not travelled further north. He is also believed to be detained in Johor.

Sources told The Straits Times that the 48-year-old was tracked down based on intelligence provided by Singapore's Internal Security Department (ISD), and a joint operation by Malaysia and Singapore's security agencies eventually led to his arrest.

The capture of Mas Selamat brings to an end one of the largest manhunts ever undertaken by Singapore and its neighbours for a terrorist on the run.

Chelsea 1 - 1 Barcelona

Iniesta's late goal break chelsea heart

Ten-man Barcelona robbed Chelsea of a place in the Champions League final in the cruellest of fashions with a 93rd-minute away goal at Stamford Bridge.

A stunning first-half volley from Michael Essien looked to have earned Chelsea victory and set up a repeat of last year's Champions League final against Manchester United.

But Andres Iniesta beat Petr Cech in the third minute of added time to send the Spanish bench and their fans delirious and leave Guus Hiddink crestfallen.

Arsenal 1 United 3

United will be in Rome on 27 May to defend the Champions League trophy after defeating Arsenal

The Champions League holders turned in a flawless away performance to completely dismantle Arsene Wenger's Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, killing the tie through early goals from Ji-sung Park and Cristiano Ronaldo, before the Portuguese added gloss to the scoreline with a breakaway third.

The only sour note for United came through the late dismissal of Darren Fletcher. The Scot will miss the final after being incorrectly punished for bringing down Cesc Fabregas inside the United area, allowing Robin van Persie to hammer home a late penalty.

Swine Flu alert

Swine Flu aka Influenza A (H1N1) is an illness caused by type A influenza viruses, which affect a range of animals, as well as humans. A new strain of Influenza A (H1N1-2009) virus that spreads from human to human has recently been identified.

Influenza A (H1N1-2009) spreads from human to human in the same way as seasonal flu.

The symptoms of Influenza A (H1N1-2009) in people are similar to the symptoms of seasonal influenza. An early symptom is high fever, and this is followed by cough, sore throat, runny nose, and sometimes breathlessness a few days later.

Protecting Yourself

What precautions can I take to protect myself and others against the flu?

Practise good personal hygiene and be socially responsible by:

a. Washing your hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water, especially before touching your eyes, nose or mouth;
b. Turning quickly away from anyone near you if you are about to cough or sneeze, and do not cough or sneeze at him;
c. Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of the tissue properly in the dust bin after use;
d. Avoiding crowded places if you are unwell and wear a surgical mask to cover your nose and mouth;
e. Staying home from work or school when you are sick; and
f. Using a serving spoon when sharing food at meal times.

Also, leading a healthy lifestyle helps to build up your immunity and protects you against infection.

a. Eat a balanced diet, including plenty of fruit and vegetables.
b. Be active. Do 30 minutes of physical activity at least 5 days a week.
c. Learn to relax and have enough sleep and rest.
d. Do not smoke.

This marketing assignment almost KO me. Manage to submit in the nick of time while wearing long sleeve, tie and boxer. Funny rite? The assignment involves a marketing report on a non-profit organization together with powerpoint slides and video.
